I’ve finally finished adding the ability to solve quadratic equations to Alvigra. Alvigra can now solve quadratic equations via factoring or by using the quadratic formula. Also the minor random problems displaying certain equations are pretty much gone (as far as I know).
I would still like to add absolute values and inequalities to Alvigra’s ever growing stable of capabilities (and plan to do so in the next few weeks), but at this point I would say that Alvigra is quite good enough to be a useful tool for algebra I students.
In the next couple of months I will probably focus on adding some help pages and maybe improve the GUI a bit. Then it will be time to try to get the word out and see if I can attract some users. It would be nice to have some beta users using Alvigra within the next couple of months, and my goal is to see Alvigra getting some serious use by the start of the next school year.
